Recipes

Your group keeps its own recipe book, on the Recipes page of your group (not inside a camp), so the meals you cook every year are typed once and reused. Each recipe records its ingredients and how many it serves, and a “cooking for” box scales the whole thing to whatever number you put in.

You don't have to fill everything in. Leave the quantity blank for things like salt or oil, and leave serves blank if you genuinely don't know — those lines simply come through without a quantity rather than being given an invented one.

On a camp's Menu tab, attach recipes to any meal with + Recipe. A meal can have several (a main and a pudding), and each one shows what this camp needs — “Chilli · ×4.5 for 27”. Menu text still works exactly as before, and most meals never need to become a recipe: “jacket potatoes and beans” is a perfectly good entry.

Then on the Shopping tab, Add from recipes adds up every ingredient across every recipe on the menu, scaled to your headcount. It is safe to press more than once: anything you added by hand is never touched, and anything you've already ticked off is never removed — even if you later take that recipe off the menu. Your prices and ticks survive too; only the quantities are updated.

Quantities are worked out for the headcount at the moment you press it, and the message tells you which number it used — so if people join or drop out later, press it again.
